About me

Thanks for wanting to know more about me. I appreciate the visit.

Intro

I'm a software engineer based in Brazil 🇧🇷. I've been around tech for more than fifteen years and decided early on to focus my career on frontend development, where I now have close to a decade of professional experience.

I care about a high-quality user experience and code that is fast, easy to understand, and reusable. I have my preferred tools and methods, but I also know I don't know everything, and I like being proven wrong by something better.

I consider myself a problem solver who is constantly learning new things to get it done.

Life

I live in a small town called Aguaí, in the countryside of São Paulo, with my wife Marília and two sausage dogs, Cacau and Tobias. We've been married since 2019. She is a neuropsychologist who is also constantly learning and working hard, and I'm glad we share that mindset.

Fun fact: we were born in the same year, four months apart.

In my spare time I play video games and spend time with the family. We both love traveling, and Machu Picchu is next on the list.

My beginning in tech

I feel extremely lucky to come from a humble family that, without any degrees of their own, always pushed me to study and work hard for the chances life gave me.

I started studying programming in 2009 with a busy schedule: high school in the morning, a non-IT internship in the afternoon, and at night a trip to a nearby city for a professional informatics course.

Alongside basic English and entrepreneurship, I learned Pascal, then Delphi for desktop development, and HTML, CSS, and a little JavaScript. The web stuck.
